June mini eco star

June mini eco star

This month's mini eco star is Amaya Rose W of Scottsdale Tasmania. Don't you love this picture - 3 days old and holding Grandad's finger! So sweet! Born on April 10 (Grandma's birthday!) Amaya is nearly 2 months old. Grandma Rita tells us that Amaya (who of course is the most beautiful baby in the world!) sleeps quite well at night, but that ever since she was just a few weeks old she likes to be awake during the day so she can see what's going on (just like her dad when he was a baby ...).

Amaya will be feaured on the mini eco website for the next month and will be receiving a special gift from us. If you would like to enter your child to be a mini eco star, have a starring place on our website and receive a gift from our collection simply email us a photo of your little one and tell us about what makes them a star. Interesting Stuff

Global Organic Cotton Sales Up 63%

Global retail sales of Organic Cotton apparel and home textile products are claimed to have reached an estimated US$3.2 billion in 2008, according to the Organic Cotton Market Report 2007-2008. This represents a 63% increase from the $1.9 billion market in 2007

Organic Exchange senior director LaRhea Pepper said it was a sign of the times that despite ominous financial forecasts, brands and retailers were standing fast to their commitment to making their product lines more sustainable by ever increasing their use of organic cotton and other organic fibres such as wool, linen and silk.

In addition, the amount of organic cotton farmers grew worldwide in 2007-08 by 152% and organic cotton production increased to 145,872 tonnes worldwide up from 57,932 tonnes produced in 2006-07.

All of this means we can hopefully see more and cheaper organic products coming on line all the time!
